The Werewolf Calendar contest was established on one overriding principle, and that was to welcome the diverse community of artists to participate in our collective vision of what the 'werewolf' is. With such a vast community of artists, many of whom are newcomers to the scene, it is hard for us to represent such a profusion of diversity in the span of one calendar. Though one of the guiding principles behind the calendar is to introduce new artists to each year's publication, this still leaves out an ever expanding fellowship of talent.
That said, since the launch of the contest , we have not only been humbled but awed and stricken by the amount of sheer talent that so passionately lended itself to this cause. Truly, this calendar belongs to this community and we haven't heartfelt enough words to express our ubiquitous gratitude for allowing us the privilege of your talent and further, for the honor of helping bring back this calendar year after year .
The Werewolf calendar would like to thank each and every one of the participants whom ventured their unique talent and vision to become a part of this project. From the very start the Werewolf Calendar has aimed to capture an essence of the werewolf rarely seen in popular media. Each and every one of the contributions to this year's contest shined with the spirit of this vision. Thank you!
The final scores were calculated numerically, and we are happy to announce there was an exact tie for the third place position! The judging was a collective effort consisting of a 25% public vote and 75% juried vote (the jury consisting of this year's artist contributors who kindly enough lent their time and their artistic eye in helping choose our winning images!)
Now announcing the official winners of the 2011 Werewolf Calendar Contest:
